Powell had a chance to seal its own fate with a win over Kelso, Wash., but fell by a 13-3 final count. That turned out to be a moot point, however, when the host Klamath Falls Nationals defeated fellow Oregon qualifier Hermiston in a run-rule decision Saturday evening. The results set up a three-way tie between the teams, which Powell won via tiebreaker after allowing the fewest runs in four pool games.
Powell will face Kitsap, Wash., at 11 a.m., Mountain time, on Sunday. The winner advances to the regional championship game later in the day. Congratulations to head coach Pudge Fagan and the members of the Powell All-Stars. Good luck Sunday!
UPDATE 2:30 P.M., Sunday: Out in Oregon, the Babe Ruth All-Stars' run came to a 15-2 end at the hands of Kitsap, Wash. Here's a big tip of the ol' ballcap to head coach Pudge Fagan and his crew. Great job of representing the state of Wyoming and making the community proud.
