On Monday, an active shooting drill was held at Powell High School. Law enforcement and emergency responders simulated a mock shooting at the new school.
As you might guess, the building was closed to the public while the drill was conducted. The following sign was posted on a couple of the doors.

The author will probably remain a mystery. Sources in the agencies and organizations involved all denied involvement in or knowledge of the creation of the sign. Furthermore, I'm pretty sure the statute of limitations for gross negligence in writing has already passed.
But for the record, if anyone is charged, it'll be an inditement indictment.
So we would rather talk about a misspelled sign then what the drill was about?
ReplyDeleteHa! Good question - there was a serious photo and a brief description of the drill in Thursday's Tribune. I'm also in the process of cutting together video footage on the activity.
ReplyDeleteSo, short answer, no. Just thought folks might find it entertaining.
Thanks for the comment!
Interesting especially since it was on the school and you would think the school employees would at least think to spell check before printing!!!

Perhaps we shouldn’t place the blame on the author of the paper. It is quite obvious it is the fault of the school system that this author could not spell. The solution is simple- lets build a new school. Let’s build a school that is more conducive to learning and a less stressful environment for the children. My suggestion is use colors that have nothing to do with school spirit, place it far enough out of the way that no one can afford to drive to the school and then raise lunch prices because the students do not have enough time to walk anywhere but the CafĂ© Le Panther. Keep the same dictatorship in charge of the school system so that when parents ask for information nothing but laughter is returned. It will be a given that when an assault of a student by an instructor it will be shrugged off as “rapport and character building”.
ReplyDeleteBTW- if you select tools>options>spelling and grammar you can select the option to have spell checking of words in upper case, but then the office staff is never wrong.
