Pretty in Pink

The Powell High School Lady Panthers basketball teamJustin Hobbs (center) poses with the PHS Lady Panthers following their Jan. 30 win over Worland. He's holding an autographed basketball raffled off in a half-time drawing.

The drawing, like the pink unis the Lady Panthers substituted for their usual orange and black, were all part of Hoops for Hope, a drive the Powell and Worland teams have joined to raise money for the fight against breast cancer. The evening’s activities included an auction, and, along with activities conducted by the PHS student body during the week, raised approximately $20,000 for the Women’s Wellness Center.

Coincidentally, Justin’s mom, Mandy Hobbs (left) was the coordinator of the event.

The Lady Panthers are, from left, Randi Asay, Kami Cooley, Kelsey Allen, Lauren Fagnant, Darcee Lynn, McKenzie Danforth, Savannah Donarski, Hannah Pollart, Leslie Thronburg, Katie Kipp and Olivia Rogers.

The campaign will be repeated in Worland when the Panthers and Lady Panthers travel to Worland for rematches with the Warriors and Lady Warriors.
